// About

We are TAMALA

A trio of African musicians in the diaspora, weaving traditional African rhythms with jazz, funk, rock and reggae into a sound that doesn't ask permission to move you.

Their lyrics speak to social and political realities, and the lived experience of Africans navigating life between cultures. TAMALA treats music as motion — political without slogans, carrying African presence in the diaspora as something active, unfinished and constantly transforming.
